Alexander Rose’s wooden furniture is FSC accredited and incorporates a variety of Teak, Mahogany, Karri and Pine. These varieties of wood have been chosen for their durability and beauty; to weather the elements and look fabulous for many years to come. Wood is the principal material used for making the traditional collection of dining sets, benches and loungers.
The Alexander Rose designer collection consists of materials that provide a more contemporary feel, including stainless steel, aluminium and textilene.
Viro
A new material that is being broadened within the Alexander Rose range is Viro. Hand woven in the Philippines, it comes in a range of colours that offer the aesthetic of traditional rattan and wicker with the added strengths of man-made fibres.
Viro is a synthetic rattan made from high density polyethylene, which is extremely durable, strong and 100% recyclable. It is weather resistant and can withstand UV rays without discolouring.
Within the Avant range the new A-Class dining set and sun chair make use of hand-woven Moccacino coloured Viro in particular and other shades are used in the San Marino and Ocean Ranges.
Ocean Range
The Ocean Range is much darker and thicker, using 7mm round Viro in a triple bronze colour and utilising a strikingly contemporary take on wicker. The range features V-shaped pattern weaves with tables and low tables, highlighting accentuated angles and multiple flat sides, giving greater depth and dimension to the furniture.
The range can also be divided into the Maldives, Fiji and Wave subsections. For 2011 the range includes a modern selection of stacking chairs, benches, tables, sun beds and swing seats.
