This house is a result of story cabin remodeling designed by Vandeventer + Carlander Architects in Vashon Island, Washington, USA. Vashon is a census-designated place (CDP)which covers an island alternately called Vashon Island or Vashon-Maury Island, the largest island in Puget Sound south of Admiralty Inlet.

Some additional floor area is needed to recognize. The idea developed to insert a wood box resting on the existing floor and cantilever over the existing basement walls, thus not affecting the existing drain field. The wooden box contains master bedroom, bath and kitchen. The exterior form and materials of the box are continued to the interior, while clerestory windows separate the box from the new shed roof above.

I’d like to call this interesting project designed by Peter Gluck and Partners Architects as an almost hidden house. The house isn’t exactly a two storey house design but yes you can call it a two storey. Pool Pavilion is located in Adirondack Mountain, New York, just near Lake George. This house was likely shady for sure as the building is really down to earth. I love the exterior which is so fresh and natural with vivid green grass spreading all over the place.

Unlike any other house, this lake house first floor (the one on the top) is used as a home office and guarding point where down at the underground is where you have your living room and socialize there.

Propeller Z have been commissioned to remodel 200 years old farm house located in Fahndorf, Austria. The owner want to transform the old house into contemporary design. The result as you see below, a beautiful modern farm house with large glass window in gorgeous natural landscape.

Propeller Z has successfully added a new contemporary addition which becomes sort of transition between the old past time and the new architectural age. The old house design seems to be buried in the ground while the new one is elevated. What’s a brilliant idea to applying it in this house. It called a transition and surely show a great connection how the upper level resembling the new age and the down is the old time.

Apparently I’m looking for a mini home plan but I ended up seeing this tiny relaxation space from Colombian architect Manuel Villa. The Colombian architecture created this mini crib in Bogota, the capital city of Colombia and the name of this small getaway mini house is Polyhedron Habitable. It’s so small that it looks like a miniature of a house.

The architects stated: “The outcome is a Regular Polyhedron –a “Truncated Cubic-octahedron”– transformed into a inhabitable space; a self-standing volume with one of his faces opened to the surroundings, and little windows on the sides and at the top that supply day light and optimal air circulation conditions.”

We think that the idea of having a small space house like this one is really worth it and you have to consider that when you live there forever definitely won’t be a good idea.
