miniature portraits. tiny little portraits painted onto tiny little bits of enamel, copper and canvas. i had no idea how many of these little things existed, until a few weeks ago. i was lucky enough to be invited to do an interview & guest curation on “the inside source”, ebay’s blog. my task was to pick any ten items that caught my eye. i started browsing around looking for interesting bits of art, and every which way i turned, i found these 19th century miniature portraits – children, pretty ladies, soldiers, gentlemen, babies. apparently, everyone and their dog got their portraits painted onto the smallest surfaces they could find. This modern villa that comes with modern interior has an astounding view from the bedroom and bathroom that faces the ocean. The infinity pool design isn’t less attractive, it features with a wooden deck and several minimalist low seating which is perfect for you to get your skin tanned and enjoy the serene atmosphere.

This hillside villa built slightly off the ground to maximize the view, which is the advantage of this villa.

This cozy house design in Italy by Italian architects Damilano Studio sets the stage for luxury living and contemporary tastes. This glass wall house has a light, airy quality without being minimalist or cold. With a unique multi-level layout, private yet connected living areas bring the best of both worlds. And yet another cozy “layer” of this house plan can be found outside its walls. For every indoor level, there is an outdoor entertaining area equivalent overlooking the piece de resistance – this swimming pool house truly has it all! this weeks it list comes from a very favorite blogger of mine perhaps because our blogs are quite different. i love editor & founder jaime derringers blog design milk (and dog milk!) because she finds the stuff i otherwise might not see. sleek, modern, and fresh, but very livable. and i like mixing that contemporary look up with my more eclectic, vintage vibe, so were a good fit. opposites attract and all of that. so, today, i bring you some of jaimes awesome modern design finds!

1. Helvetica shirt. It’s silly but I want it. Being self-employed means wearing lots of t-shirts and PJ pants, so this would be a great addition to my weekly lineup.  2.
