Usually the decorating focus goes to living rooms, kitchens and bedrooms. The people focus on making bathroom functional but simply tend to overlook the transition spaces like hallways and stairs.

holy cow, wow. i just stumbled across Bird and Bear, the etsy shop of Brooklyn artist Joetta Maue, and her abundance of beautiful and completely unique hand embroidery blew my socks off. i totally fell for these re-purposed, hand embroidered works of art, all of which are created on one of a kind vintage linens, like hankies and tablecloths.

Joette also accepts commissions for custom images for embroidered portraits, and custom text orders are welcome, as well. I can see these pieces being amazing and very personal housewarming, baby shower or wedding gifts.
